Grainne Reynolds
Grainne is a mother of three based in Poole, Dorset, UK. She has always had a strong interest in arts and crafts and has had many creative hobbies in the past including pottery, mosaics, stained glass, and jewellery making. Grainne originally trained as a psychiatric nurse but after the birth of her third child in 2011 felt she needed to improve her work/life balance. She sought a new challenge that would allow her to use her creative skills.
In 2011 Grainne started her own keepsake business and ‘Times to Treasure’ was born. She specialise in fine silver imprint jewellery, primarily children and babies hand and footprints and fingerprints set into silver. She also has an Etsy shop where she sells her other silver creations.
Over the last 8 years Grainne's business has grown and she has been able to develop and learn new skills and challenge her creativity. In 2016 she completed her Art Clay Diploma. Grainne is currently teaching silver clay courses at The Arts University Bournemouth, the Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts, as well as many other venues.
Grainne won an Honorary Mention at the prestigious Silver Accessories Contest 2019. Her winning work "Save the Bees" has been exhibited in Tokyo, Japan this spring.
Grainne describes her work life now: "I enjoy nothing more than creating bespoke and one-off pieces alongside my regular keepsake jewellery. In 2014 I won a ‘Handmade in Dorset award’ which I am very proud of, it’s wonderful to have your creativity recognised and celebrated. Having the chance to pass on my passion and knowledge for this wonderful medium is very exciting and I enjoy it immensely."
