Anna Mazon - Treasured Trees Pendant
Spend a day with Anna creating a Treasured Tree pendant. Learn how to shape silver clay into beautiful three-dimensional tree - sculpt tiny branches, and create a life-like bark effect. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve using Anna's master sculpting techniques.
Trees are beautiful shapes, offering us as makers so many different options on how to portray them. They've been used throughout history in literature and art to symbolise nature, fertility, and life. They represents balance, learning, growth and harmony. The trunk stands for strength, stability and structure, standing firm and withstanding the greatest of challenges. Every tree has a story, and in this workshop you can create your very own.
The day is packed with lots of different techniques. You'll learn about achieving different textures, interesting shapes, and lots of tricks for working with very small forms in metal clay. And you'll be using no moulds, just a few basic tools and your imagination!
Be inspired by Anna's various tree themed jewellery designs (see some samples in the gallery below), and explore how to interpret these techniques into your own work. Please note - the sample photos includes stones and other metal clay types - in this class you will not be setting stones, and you will be working with Art Clay Silver.
