Melanie Blaikie

Melanie is an experienced craft teacher, who has been delighting students attending her workshops, since 2003. Her number one rule is ‘Keep it simple’, so each project is accompanied by straightforward information and clear step-by-step demonstrations, plus invaluable tips and tricks of the trade that are easy to follow at home.

Melanie’s jewellery career began with a stint as a diamond valuer and progressed on to becoming a jewellery designer in London’s own diamond quarter – Hatton Garden.  It was the discovery of a then little known material called Silver Clay that set Melanie on the path on sharing her knowledge, skills  - and mistakes – with others.  Melanie has more recently added Polymer Clay to her teaching portfolio but with it’s brilliant colours and vibrant patterns colourful polymer clay jewellery is set to become a great hit!

Now an established tutor regularly teaching around the UK, Melanie is also the author of ‘Silver Clay Workshop ‘ a complete guide to getting started with silver clay jewellery and ‘Rings’ a collection of mixed media projects using unusual and re-cycled materials to create fun jewellery.
