Tracey Spurgin

Tracey’s creative journey began as a child. She studied fashion design and textiles, and then went on to make Bridal gowns and bespoke clothing. She discovered a passion for teaching and has taught interior designs and soft furnishings, along with various other art and craft courses for the local authority and Hull College. Her metal clay journey began nearly ten years ago by accidental discovery. The material captivated her from the start and has since inspired and pushed her to develop her skills and experiment with techniques.

While the material lends itself beautifully to organic fluid designs, Tracey enjoys the challenge of designing & executing pieces that are almost mini feats of engineering in clay. Her inspiration comes from her love of travelling and her observation of architecture. She now dedicates all her effort to all things metal clay. She travels far and wide across the UK and Internationally to deliver all levels of workshops and courses.

Over 6 years she has written over 60 project tutorials for various jewellery and craft magazines and is now also a guest designer on Jewellery Maker TV.
